How do i clean my pc up?

i've had my laptop for about 2.5 years. it doesnt run as good as it used to.

--when i turn it on, i get a prompt that says somthing like "symantec auto protect unable to load"

--sometimes the desktop will not show up at all. no icons, no start menus. the only way i can get it to work is by the Alt-Ctrl-Del funtion, and then running the C: drive, which i get a prompt like "the file C:\blahblahsomethingorothernonsense" cannot be found. then my start menu and desktop icons will show up.

--my AOL application often shuts off/disconnects by itself.

--last week, i got a blue screen of death (havent seen that in a while)

--generally runs slower (longer for applications to open and run)

--often makes a loud buzzing noise (like a fan on high speed)

how do i eliminate some of this so i can make my pc run a little quicker? i dont want to reinstall XP again.

Go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools. There use clean up and defrag. Sounds like your laptop has mechanical issues you need to deal with too. Maybe take it to the mother company of where you bought it, or if you bought it at Best Buy, you can trade it in for a new one. You should call Microsoft and hire an Eliyah Smith. He is my brother, and he can do ANYTHING when it comes to computers!
