rootkit revealer may help.

Iam trying to scan my computer for viruses. everytime i try it tells another scan is in progress.?anti virus scan

try to press ctrl alt del task manager will appear try to look if theres any anti virus program running... if there's not... u need to back up your files, format your hard drive and reinstall the system and files... that is the safest and easiest thing to do....
rick click on the bottom task bar see task manager ..see if its dsabled or locked get a good virus scanner i have FREE AVAST home anti virus and ive never had a problem it stops them and finds them.. spybot search and destroy another good free scanner cleaner , also i use adawareSE BY lavasoft and adaware 2007
yep, you have a virus. try using/searching unhookexec.inf... you can find it at symantec.com to reenable your taskmanager. also, change your AV to kaspersky or NOD32. Install spybot (recommended) or adaware or any anti-spyware utilities. start up in safe mode, run anti-spyware and AV.
try restarting the computer and then doing it again. if you restart it should stop any current activity and make you start fresh on rebooting.
