Symantec antivirus not updating?

hi dear,

i have dell 600 latitude laptop and having symantec antivirus.

when i try to go live update the version nothing happens.

i checked and found mine version is old one 2006.

if i try to enable mine auto protect,this is locked.

can u tell me how to unlock this feature and how to go for live update.
