Hello i was wondering is it possible to become a police officer in gta san andreas im bored of this gang stuff and i want to arrest poeple and protect poeple i know you can in missions but can you be a cop out of missions to... thanks for anyone that helps :)

It's called Vigilante Mode.

Steal any Police Vehicle and press R3.

Your job is to hunt down criminals.

no you cant.
No you can't. But you can dress up in a police officer uniform (obtained after accomplishing 100% with Barbara). Then do vigilante missions and kill bad guys --unfortunately you will get wanted stars for shooting. So you are not really a cop after that.

Nope. Name of the game is Grand Theft Auto, not Prevent Grand Theft Auto. You want to be a good guy, play Driv3r. Plays like GTA (badly, but meh), and you play as a cop.

Also, there's the True Crime series, where you play as a cop (LA was a zillion times better than NYC, in case you want to know).
