I've heard PREVX is good, and I have Avast right now. Avast has been known to be about 87% accurate with scans, so that's why I downloaded PREVX. Should I delete Avast? Having both of them has not slowed my laptop down, but is it nessecary to have two virus/malware programs?
Also, I was thinkin og installing Zone-Alarms. Should I?
I've downloaded PREVX CSI Home for my computer. Do I need to delete Avast now?security
PrevX CSI about detecting and cleaning an infection, not preventing it. Avast on the other hand, as traditional AV software, also prevents malware from infecting your PC.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure :)
Keep PrevX CSI as backup scanner, in case something does slip past Avast's defences. Since it does not have any on-access protection, it should not conflict with Avast.
About ZoneAlarm, I can not really say anything, as it has been years since I last used it. If you use Windows XP SP2/Vista, check out the built-in firewall first, in case it does what you want. Also, if you have a router at home, check the manual for firewall/packet filtering features. If you have a hardware firewall protecting from inbound connections, you may not need a software firewall at all.
