i was recently in an auto accident, and though i have liability, im not sure if its enough to cover damages and injury to the other party. is there any form of insurance i can take now to protect myself from a lawsuit, any other protective measures?

Sorry, but your current insurance is the only policy that will apply since it was in force at the time of the accident. Nothing you purchase after the fact will help now. Good luck to you.
