My e-browser becomes 'non-responding' very frequently since i have started using avast(anti-virus)?pop up blocker

Hello, Well this anti-virus should not do that. It does run in the background when you are using your PC but it should not hang it up. Check your settings on your anti-virus program, perhaps it is running a full scan of your computer because it was told to by default. Is it also used for your firewall? If so check the settings as well. Make sure that the old anti-virus programs are off of your computer completely. There is a good chance that if they are still on your PC then you have more than one running or just causing a conflict with Avast. I would say though from personel experience get rid of your current anti virus program and anything left from the other ones and use a FREE anti-virus program by grisoft called AVG(anti-virus by Grisoft). It is talked about in the PC magazines on how good it is. I should know because I have been using it for over 3 years now and it will work! It has great functionality and ease of use. It is one of the best out there free or not. Here is the web site: http://www.avg-download.us/ But if your internet browser is slow or not responding then perhaps it is not so much your anti-virus program than a network problem. Check your connection and the speed of it as well. Go into "My Network Places" and check this out. Maybe your low on system memory? Just a thought. Just check out your system and clean it out and check for the most current updates and the like. Hope this was a bit of a help.
