avg is better, dont install both. they will clash.
Both are better. Your PC will not clash or slow down.
Both are v.good. Running both will cause problems. IMHO Avast is marginally the better product.
I use AVAST at home and AVG at work. I like AVAST slightly better, as it seems to be more active and crashes less.
AVG
I prefer AVG - less quirky than Avast and less instrusive. Additionally, AVG have recently taken over ESET, makers of NOD32 which is excellent so we can expect some of that technology appearing in AVG's method.

Well done for not asking about Symantec (too intrusive by far and only used by the gullible who believe adverts!) and McAfee (the joke antivirus product)
