If involved in car accident and wrongly ticketed, what to do in court?

I was going thru an intersection and light turned yellow, man turned in front of me to make a left turn. I hit him and spun around and hit 2 other cars. Cop ticketed me and said I sped up to avoid yellow lite. Wouldn't that mean he turned on a yellow? I was not asked at accident what happened, and was weak and kept blacking out. Cop left ticket at hospital for me. Also, insurance dropped me after 4 yrs., and claim I cxld them days before accident. I did not cxl and they have auto withdrawn for 4 yrs. They said they listened to a recording of me telling them to cxl. I told them to play the tape for me and they refused. My car is totaled and no coverage along with everyone else trying to get at me. How do I prove he is at fault? How do I protect myself? How do I defend myself? And do I have to file b.k.? I need help asap. Thank you.

File an action to correct the narration of facts regarding the incident so that you will not be meted a penalty or if there maybe, a lower penalty. Regarding the insurance, present evidence that you did not cancel the contract so that the insurer will compensate you for the damages you incurred from the accident.

Unfourtunately the person in the turning lane is allowed to turn on a yellow light if they are in the intersection, however if you are going straight your only job is to begin to slow on the yellow light. I don't think there is much in this case for you. If you wanted to, your best bet would be to prove that the person making the turn was not in the intersection on the yellow light. This may reduce some fines, but I doubt it will do anything for your insurance. :(
