I just gave you a star for a interesting question. Yes i also could not do a system restore with Norton Internet security 2007 on Vista about a year ago and Norton's support solutions did not help me either. I only had a 60 day trial version of Norton and replaced it with Trend Micro Internet security. Hopefully you only have a trial version of Norton installed so it will not be too much big of a loss to you if you want to dump Norton. I can tell you my system restore works the way it should when i removed Norton from my system. I believe the best answer here is to remove Norton like i did because it interferes with too many important windows features and Norton products have poor customer support.

sometimes systems restore might not work but why do you want to use it anyway, if you have a real problem to fix your computer i know away to fix it but i wouldnt recommend it till a last resort, its away of reverting your computer by to the very beginnig to whn you first got it, if you want to do that just email me, email me anyway and tell me whats the problem with your computer
it might be you have too many programs running when the restore points were automatically created....if you read the instructions on how to create your own restore point it tells you all running programs have to be closed and the recycle bin has to be empty and your system has to be virus free
Try running System Restore in Safe Mode.

To access Safe Mode, reboot then repeatedly press the F8 key at the first screen. The screen will look strange, but don't panic. This is normal in Safe Mode.

Reboot again to return to normal mode.
hi i often have this problem i find that if you switch off close lid unplug remove battery and wait 15 seconds and shout balla bing balla bong and refit battery plug in and start her up she will be hunky dorey, let me nare howya get on marra.
