I just downloaded spy-bot to try and keep my computer safer, but now it won't let me enable my auto-protect from Symantec. Any ideas?
Symantec problem?computer
If you are using a product from Symantec.. then I would suggest you simply make sure you have a complete suite (such as Norton 360) and not go for some freeware junk.
Most likely you are causing conflicts by installing this extra stuff.
I would advise you to uninstall spybot and reboot the computer and then make sure that your Symantec product is working properly... if it is not, I would suggest you completely uninstall it via add/remove programs, reboot, and then reinstall it and force manual updates until it is completely updated then reboot again.
It's quite possible you are already infected with something or have infected yourself with an infected download.. so get it sorted out asap.
Good Luck
