When I gave my mobile number on Craigslist, I had a lot of callers bothering me even after I sold my item!

I would have really liked a free, auto-expiring, anonymous phone number that I could have used on Craigslist easily.

Generally you shouldn't put your phone number unless you know you won't be able to ever access your email during the sale period.

However, you can try:

...they should have what you're looking for.

you are talking billions of radom phone numbers from a phone system that is already stretched so thin that most numbers dont' sit empty for more than 15 days before being given back out as a new number.

if you read craigslist when you set up the ad you would of read on how to save the listing, how to edit the listing and how to delete the listing for once the item is sold or done.
Well for one, Craigslist is a free service, just imagine the costs of implementing an anonymous phone routing system. Besides, the successful sale of your item alone should be enough to motivate you to continue to ignore further calls as well as make you want to take down your ad.
why would you put your phone number ?

everyone has email

use that instead
