Windows Security Centre has a habit of not accurately knowing about all the different products, my antivirus program doesn't even seem to be on its radar, however it's generally alright but newer and bigger company products.. Go into the program and you'll be able to find out if it's really out of date or not. I agree with the previous answers reboot first and then check.
Reboot the PC and look at it again.
how can u be so sure. windows security center is v ery good let me tell u. and only because the virus signature is not upto dte its reporting u this. i would suggest uninstalling avast and reinstalling it again. it wont harm u.
